Concourse incident
An EXIT sign came down the dead escalator. The Regent followed beneath it, built from retail plastic and tile over wet clay. Stolen directory arrows covered its body.
It gestured. Three storefronts folded into a corridor that hadn't been there. The mannequins turned. Of all the routes left open, the one the signs offered was wrong.
Route logic
It starts with a route you could believe in. Then it closes the alternatives until you reach a prepared kill court.
Contradicting one sign won't stop it; the Regent expects that. Give it a destination the building can't provide. An arrow toward a removed store, or a closed circle of directions, can make it tear panels off to correct the error. The red-clay joints show while it works.

Create a paradox
Make the route impossible. Turn the arrows inward, point them toward a removed destination, or arrange a circle the building cannot satisfy. The Regent spends its authority correcting the contradiction, and the routes around it destabilize.
