The field account preserves what witnesses understood before the encounter became doctrine. It is observation, not certainty.
Field account
At low tide, every gull and stranded fish faced the same cove. Lantern light opened the Siren Anemone: hundreds of translucent arms surrounding a face made from pearl nodules and pink muscle. The hymn entered through the teeth, using childhood voices and half-remembered names to draw listeners deeper until crooked shadows broke the chorus into competing notes.
Observed behavior
The colony arranges rather than pursues. A soothing undertone aligns boats, fish, and people along paths toward its pool. Separate tentacle choirs then assign each body a note and punish anyone who breaks formation. It can imitate familiarity, but not a truly unexpected interruption.
Read the environment
The warning arrives before the creature.
Stranded creatures point headfirst toward one tide pool.
Shells hum when held against the jaw rather than the ear.
Familiar voices finish sentences with the wrong memories.
Survival doctrine
Recognize the rule. Break the advantage.

Break the meter
Irregular, unscripted noise disrupts the shared timing until separate lures begin contradicting one another.

When forced to relocate, the pale disk beneath the colony can neither sing nor defend itself effectively.

Primary form
An upright figure appears rooted into a rock or anemone base, with the torso rising from a fixed lower mass.
