Breach testimony
The refugees were alive behind its wings. White-gold light sealed the breach, and the rotating halo measured everyone who approached. A threat would be stopped. A beneficiary would be kept safe. A contradiction had to be resolved.
No one could leave. Force changed nothing. The gate opened when protection was made to include the right to go.
Protective mandate
The Guardian repairs boundaries and keeps danger out, even if doing so confines those it shelters. The protected whole matters more to it than one person's freedom. Pleading has little effect. A precise argument about consent or purpose can change the protection; so can showing what the protected people depend upon.
A successful deception darkens one plane of its armor. That facet stays blind to the same kind of threat afterward.
