Field record
Geometric encounter
A shot passed through the rust line beneath its square head. Most of its depth was turned outside the observer's world.
Then a second attacker drew its attention. The slab torso arrived as it rotated, dry planes opening into limbs. Hinge after hinge unfolded around the attackers. The cage had right-angled corners.
Observed geometry
One observer lets it stay edge-on and keep most of itself absent. Separated attackers force it to turn, exposing successive planes. It folds distance by changing angle. Curves interfere with the right-angle logic it needs to return.

Signs of its presence
A rust-colored vertical line follows movement without getting wider.
White bristle tufts hang at unsupported right angles. Box-shaped shadows stretch around objects with nothing to cast them.

Force two angles
Apply pressure at the same time from widely separated directions. Turning between them brings tangible depth into local space and holds it there.

Use curved continuity
Use a circle or spiral, or get behind a rounded barrier. Those shapes deny the right-angle anchors it needs to fold distance and shut the cage.

An extremely narrow figure is assembled from separated planes, long uneven legs, and almost no continuous torso.

Tiny floating segments and hinge-like joints preserve the sense that the body is only temporarily aligned.
