The field account preserves what witnesses understood before the encounter became doctrine. It is observation, not certainty.
Field account
At first it looked like a rust line beneath a square head. A shot passed through because the Manifold was not thin—its depth had been rotated somewhere outside the observer's world. Only when it turned toward a second attacker did the full body arrive: slab torso, dry planes, and limbs unfolding through hinge after hinge into a right-angled cage.
Observed behavior
The Manifold waits edge-on to one observer and folds distance through angle rather than space. Isolated prey lets it keep most of the body absent. Pressure from separated directions forces constant rotation, exposing one plane after another. Curves confuse the right-angle logic it needs to return.
Read the environment
The warning arrives before the creature.
A rust-colored vertical line tracks movement without widening.
White bristle tufts float at unsupported right angles.
Stretched shadows form boxes around objects with no caster.

Force two angles
Simultaneous pressure from widely separated directions pulls tangible depth into local space and keeps it exposed while turning.

Use curved continuity
Circles, spirals, and rounded barriers deny the right-angle anchors needed to fold distance and close the cage.

Primary form
An extremely narrow figure is assembled from separated planes, long uneven legs, and almost no continuous torso.
